UAE 10-year residency visa demonstrates nation’s inclusive policies

On 20 May 2018, the UAE demonstrated once again its commitment to inclusiveness, prosperity, and economic growth of its residents while opening its arms to talented professionals, students and investors. According to the new system approved by the cabinet, the country will grant 10-year residency visas for specialists in medical, scientific, research and technical fields, as well as for all scientists, innovators and entrepreneurs. 5-year residency visas for students studying in the UAE and 10-year visas for exceptional students is also on offer.

This new visa system will attract investors and competencies to the UAE and thus, further boost the country’s economic competitiveness globally.

His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has directed the bodies concerned to implement the decisions by the end of the year. He has also directed them to review the current residence visa scheme to extend the duration of the visa validity of dependents after they complete their university studies.
